Most people consume advice about the “perfect idea” or the “perfect time.” But consuming alone won’t move you forward.
You have to create. You have to build. You have to start.
Creating with purpose is better than consuming with comfort
There’s joy in looking back and seeing how others are enjoying the fruits of what you have created. It could be your newsletter, a product you built, a site you designed, etc.
There’s less joy in spending hours only consuming and wishing you had done something better afterwards.
Don’t get me wrong; I love every moment I spend consuming beautiful stuff from beautiful people. It could be a TikTok post, a newsletter, or even art designed by AI.
Create for others, not just yourself
The friction that comes from waiting can be eliminated by focusing on the problems you want to solve and the smile you’d put on others when they find what you’ve created.
It’s not about you.
The focus should be on your audience.
Start writing and the inspiration comes.
Start showing up and the opportunities follow.
Start swinging and the iron will glow again.
Your Mission will outlast everything else
When you see what you do as a mission or a purpose bigger than you, you naturally give it more focus and attention and reap unshakeable momentum as a reward.
It applies even in your 9 - 5. There’s a difference between people who work to solve a big problem and stand out in their organization and those that only work for the sake of having a job/career.
The former is what Jesus in the Bible referred to as the “good shepherd” in the Bible. They’re not just working for the pay but are willing to risk their lives for the sheep.
It’s not about perfection—it’s about contribution.
I hear a lot of people talk about waiting until they have a “perfect idea” or waiting for the “perfect time” to start something.
But in reality, there’s no perfect moment.
There are only problems in the world waiting to be solved. There are solutions that need refining. And customers that need your attention.
The Real estate gurus lied
I remember when I thought low-investment real estate was a waste of time. The real estate gurus I heard would say, if you can’t afford to buy tens of units of buildings, you may have just bought loads of tenant complaints and headaches dealing with just one or two tenants.
But I don’t see it that way anymore. I own a piece of real estate and believe I have tasted the joy I would feel when I have tens of units.
In fact, I reason with the idea that every expert was once a beginner. There’s no shame in embracing the beginner’s mindset.
Your dream doesn’t need a perfect moment; it needs you to show up and take action today. So, stop waiting. The time is now.
Because the world doesn’t need more consumers waiting for perfect conditions. It needs more creators showing up anyway.
